Crème de la Mer (The Moisturizing Cream) Review
La Mer's original luxury face cream. 'Miracle Broth' — a proprietary fermented sea-kelp bio-ferment — is listed on the INCI simply as Algae Extract, first ingredient, ahead of water. Underneath the marine story the functional base is a classic occlusive system: mineral oil, petrolatum, paraffin, microcrystalline wax and lanolin alcohol, plus a mineral gluconate complex and a vitamin package (E, B3, beta-carotene, B12, panthenol). Very thick, semi-solid balm-cream that must be warmed between the fingertips until translucent before pressing into skin. Leaves a rich, dewy-to-slightly-greasy occlusive film that sits on the surface rather than absorbing. Heavily fragranced with seven declared allergens.
