• Account and subscription data: Your email address, display name, country, newsletter preferences, and account identifiers when you subscribe or sign in.
• Community activity: Your Beauty 100 votes, comments, product relationship disclosures, reports, and moderation history. Comments and your display name may be visible publicly.
• Saved activity: Coupons and other items you choose to save to your account.
• Usage and security data: We use Plausible Analytics to understand aggregate traffic without cross-site advertising trackers. Our hosting and security providers may also process technical details such as IP address, browser, request, and device information to operate and protect the Site.

How We Use Your Information

We use this information to:

• Provide accounts, saved items, voting, commenting, and community moderation
• Publish and calculate aggregate Beauty 100 community signals
• Send newsletters and service messages you request
• Prevent spam, coordinated voting, fraud, abuse, and security incidents
• Measure and improve the Site

We do not sell or rent your personal information. A brand relationship disclosed on a community contribution is used for transparency and to keep affiliated votes out of the community ranking signal.

Service Providers and Sharing

We use service providers for authentication, database hosting, website hosting, analytics, email delivery, security, and payments. They process information for us under their own privacy terms and only as needed to provide those services. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect users or the Site, or as part of a business transaction. Loops stores subscriber email data to deliver our emails; Supabase supports account authentication; Neon and Vercel support the Site and its data.

Data Retention

We keep account and community information while your account is active and as needed to operate the Site, resolve reports, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations. When you unsubscribe, we may retain a suppression record so we can honor that choice. When you delete your account, your active votes are removed. Previously published ranking snapshots may retain non-identifying aggregate totals. Published comments are de-identified and may remain as “Former member” so conversations do not lose their context; you can delete your own comment before deleting the account. Limited security, moderation, backup, or legal records may remain for a reasonable period.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Unsubscribe: Every email includes an unsubscribe link. Click it to stop receiving our newsletter immediately.
• Access or Delete Your Data: Contact us at hello@insiderbeauty.com to request a copy of the data we hold about you, correct it, object to certain uses, or request deletion. Signed-in members can also delete their account from account settings.

Cookies

Plausible Analytics is configured without tracking cookies. Account authentication and security may use essential cookies or similar storage so you can remain signed in and protected. We do not use those essential technologies for cross-site advertising.
