Milani Baked Bronzer Review
The Insider Score
Powder bronzersLight, buildable warmth around the edge of the face.
We’d pick Milani Baked Bronzer for a soft sweep over the outer cheeks and temples. Amalfi Glow is the light bronze in the range, a useful place to start if stronger bronzers overwhelm your base.
I liked the warmth of the baked bronzer.

At a glance
Start with a soft brush at the outer cheek.
Use what’s left on the temples.
Choose Hoola if you prefer matte warmth.
A light bronze that you can place with a big brush
Milani Baked Bronzer is the one I’d buy for a bit of sun-warmed colour around the face. The shade pictured, Amalfi Glow, is the light bronze in the current range. It leaves a different impression from a bright peach blush even though the compacts look almost like twins. One warms the area where you’d naturally catch a little sun. The other changes the colour of your cheeks.
I like the baked powder for a light base because you can decide the depth as you go. Choose the shade in daylight if you can. A bronzer that looks just dark enough in the compact may disappear over foundation, while one that’s several steps too deep takes careful blending every time you pick it up. Amalfi Glow is a starting point for a lighter bronze, with deeper shades available in the same line.
Two sweeps that keep the warmth believable
Load one side of a fluffy brush and tap the handle against your finger. Place the first sweep high on the outside of the cheek, then turn the brush and use the clean side to move the colour towards the hairline. Do the other cheek before you reload. It’s much easier to compare the depth while both sides are still sheer.
Use what’s left around the temples. If you wear a side part or pull the hair off your face, check the edge right by the ear. A narrow strip of unblended base is sometimes what makes an otherwise soft bronzer look drawn on. Take the brush to that edge without picking up any more powder.
When I’d choose it over Hoola
Milani’s regular US price is $12.99 for 0.12 oz. Its baked finish brings a little light as well as warmth, which makes it especially appealing on a pared-back face. Benefit Hoola is the comparison I’d make if you prefer matte powder and want more control over where the face catches the light.
Between Milani’s own two baked compacts, I’d buy the bronzer for the perimeter of the face and Luminoso for peach across the cheeks. That distinction is more useful at the till than deciding which gold compact looks prettier.
