Dior Backstage Rosy Glow Blush Review
The Insider Score
Powder blushesBuy 001 for the cool pink you see on your cheek.
Rosy Glow 001 earns its luxury price when this particular cool pink is the one you wear most. A light first sweep lets you decide how much more colour the cheek needs.
I liked the way the Rosy Glow powder brought colour to my cheeks.

The pink compact that starts a little brighter than you expect
Dior Backstage Rosy Glow is the blush I’d swatch on my cheek before deciding whether the famous pink is my pink. The powder in the 001 Pink compact looks cool and bright. Dior describes the formula as colour-responsive, and the effect that matters is the one you see once it’s on your skin. A pan shot, even a very accurate one, can’t show how that pink will sit beside your undertone and foundation.
This is the pressed powder in the silver-edged compact with the Dior pattern on the pan. The Rosy Glow Stick is a different formula and applicator. I’d choose the powder for the control of a soft cheek brush and a finish that can sit neatly over a powdered base. If your usual routine is to tap colour onto bare cheeks on the way out of the door, a tube of Cloud Paint is easier to work with.
Give the first layer a chance
Take a little colour onto the tips of a brush, sweep it onto the upper cheek and blend outwards. Finish the rest of the face or turn towards natural light before going back for more. The combination of a cool pink and reflected light can look quite different when you face a window than it does under a bathroom bulb.
If you want more depth, add the second pass where the colour should be most visible, then blend the perimeter with the cleaner part of the brush. That keeps the edge soft without expanding a small pink cheek into a stripe. Skin tone matters here as much as technique. If 001 is too pale or too cool for the effect you want, there are other shades in the range.
A $42 shade decision
The full-size powder is $42 for 4.5 g. I’d spend that when the particular pink is the point and you expect to wear it regularly. If you’re simply trying to discover whether you enjoy a rosy cheek, essence Rose All Day offers a lower-cost route, with its own more visibly shimmery baked finish.
Rosy Glow makes the clearest case as a specific shade and finish. Try to choose it by those two things rather than by the recognisable embossing in the pan.
