Secret is the closest thing to a structural copy of the Charlotte Tilbury stick that the drugstore sells. Both are dimethicone-led wax bullets, and both lean on polyethylene, dicalcium phosphate, caprylic/capric triglyceride, aluminum hydroxide and silica in the same slip and blurring-filler roles. On the lip that reads as a soft, faintly powdery glide rather than the waxy drag most $12 mattes give you.

The shade sits half a step rosier and browner than Pillow Talk. That flatters medium and tan skin and lands slightly heavier on very fair, cool-toned lips. One stroke is more opaque than one stroke of the original, so press the bullet on and blend the edge with a finger instead of painting it. A Beauty Edit, who tested ten candidates side by side, made the same note about pigment load.

Neither is a long-wear formula. Temptalia measured about 4.5 hours on Pillow Talk against its up-to-10-hour claim, and nobody has published a measured figure for Secret. Assume a top-up after lunch with either.

$11.99 for 0.14 oz works out at $3.00 a gram against Charlotte Tilbury's $10.57. That is the widest per-gram gap on this page from a stick that actually behaves like the original.

Pick Me Up is the shade match people arrive at from video. Bluegraygal filmed a designer against drugstore test and called it the same colour on the lip, and the TikTok comparison Yahoo Shopping picked up reached the same verdict. It pulls a step browner and less pink than Pillow Talk, which is easier to wear on olive and deep complexions and can read muddy on very fair, cool-toned lips.

Finish is where it parts company with the Milani. This is thin, genuinely flat matte with no light-reflecting pigment at all, and it feels close to weightless going on. Pillow Talk sits heavier and looks softer on a textured lip. If you have vertical lip lines, the original's sheen hides them and this does not.

Wear time is a wash. Bluegraygal, who wore both, found each one drying by hour four, so swapping down here buys you no comfort.

At $9.99 for 0.15 oz this is $2.35 a gram, the cheapest per gram of the sticks on this page that publish a weight, and it sits wherever Revlon sits. Shade 003 is confirmed on Revlon's own site. Its UK availability is not.

Dirty Talk is for anyone whose real complaint about Pillow Talk is that it dries them out by lunchtime. Squalane, marula oil and jojoba esters make this a satin rather than a matte, and it stays comfortable through its whole wear instead of tightening at hour four.

On colour it is very close. Temptalia's swatch database scores it 95 percent similar to Pillow Talk, and A Beauty Edit chose it as the best of ten they tested. It is a beige-leaning pink, which is why it holds from fair through deep skin without going ashy, the failure mode of flatter nude bullets on deeper complexions.

The trade is shine and staying power. Straight from the bullet it is glossier than Pillow Talk by a margin you can see across a room, and it travels more, so a blot and a press of translucent powder earns its thirty seconds. Nobody has timed it against the original, but a satin gives up its colour sooner than a matte, and this one does.

It is also the simplest of these to buy in Britain. Ten dollars in the US, ten pounds in the UK, both on e.l.f.'s own site, which nothing else on this page matches.

Lead the Way earns its place on wear time and nothing else. It is a long-wear crayon built on film formers, a different piece of chemistry from a wax bullet, and it survives coffee, lunch and a long phone call in a way Pillow Talk does not. A Beauty Edit found it both the longest-lasting and the hardest to take off of the ten they tested.

The colour is close without being exact. Temptalia puts it at 85 percent, the lowest score of anything on this page, and it lands rosier and a little cooler than Pillow Talk. On deeper skin that rosiness is an asset. On fair, warm complexions it can tip pink-forward.

Two warnings. It is dry, and on a lip that is already flaking it will find every crack, so exfoliate and use balm first. And it is not cheap. Maybelline sells 0.04 oz for $12.99, which is $10.83 a gram against Pillow Talk's $10.57. Per gram this is the one product here that costs more than the thing it replaces. You are buying the wear, not the saving.

Mehr is the answer to a question most people get wrong. The MAC shade the internet reaches for is Velvet Teddy, and Temptalia's community comparison scores that at 86 percent against Pillow Talk, deeper and distinctly browner. Mehr scores 95 percent and Twig Twist ties it. On the lip Mehr is a muted rose-brown pink that tracks Pillow Talk closely on medium and olive skin, and can pull darker and more mauve on warm complexions.

Same 3.5 g fill as the original, same counters in both countries. It shares microcrystalline wax, silica, the pentaerythrityl antioxidant and even the vanillin scent, so it smells and sets like a relative rather than a stranger.

Two caveats. The saving is $12 in the US, or £5 against MAC's £25 recommended price at LookFantastic's current £20, which makes this a swap rather than a rescue. And MAC reformulated the line as M·A·Cximal in 2024, adding shea, coconut and cacao butters with kaolin, so it sits creamier than the matte Temptalia originally scored. Closer to Pillow Talk in colour than the drugstore picks above, and softer in texture than any of them.

Snuggle is the cheapest route to this shade and the thinnest-evidenced pick on the page, and both halves of that deserve saying out loud. Two independent bloggers who own both, Your Girl Knows in August 2025 and Melissa Jane Lee in February 2025, call it a pinkish-nude match for Pillow Talk. No major outlet has swatched it against the original, and L.A. Girl publishes neither a net weight nor an ingredient list for the line, so the per-gram and formula comparisons we ran on everything else are not possible here.

What is checkable. It is $5.50, Snuggle was in stock on L.A. Girl's own site on 22 August 2026, and it is a shea-butter velvet matte, which is the same intent as Charlotte Tilbury's cushioned matte even if the execution is flatter. The brand states cruelty-free and paraben-free.

Distribution is the catch. There is no UK high-street stockist, and in the US it means the brand's site, Amazon and patchy Walmart shelves. At a seventh of Pillow Talk's price that is a fair gamble. At $25 it would not be.
