Yes for makeup, with one caveat for skincare. True Match Super-Blendable Foundation ($13.99, 1 fl oz, Ulta, 26 August 2026) and Voluminous Lash Paradise mascara ($10.99, 0.28 fl oz, Target) are the two purchases that make the brand's case. The complication is Revitalift 1.5% Pure Hyaluronic Acid Serum: a 4.6/5 average from 13,828 Ulta reviews, but a list price that has climbed to $35.99 for 1 oz. Buy the makeup at full price and the skincare on sale.

Is L'Oréal Paris a good brand?

The five products we track average 4.4/5 across 101,600 aggregated reviews, and none dips below 4.3. That consistency is the real argument for the brand. Plenty of drugstore lines have one famous product propping up a mediocre catalogue; L'Oréal Paris does not.

The argument against is price creep. When we first compared it with Estée Lauder's Advanced Night Repair, Revitalift cost $23.99. Ulta now lists it at $35.99, with a sale price of $26.99 on 26 August 2026. Infallible Fresh Wear foundation went from $15.99 to $18.99 over the same stretch, and the US bottle now claims up to 32-hour wear instead of 24. Still cheap next to the prestige products these get compared with. No longer impulse-cheap.

Two facts to settle before you buy anything. L'Oréal is not certified cruelty-free: it appears on neither the Leaping Bunny nor the PETA cruelty-free lists, and while the company says it has not tested its products on animals since 1989, it sells in markets where regulators can still require animal testing of ingredients. It also makes no clean-beauty claims. If either is a dealbreaker for you, nothing else on this page changes that.

True Match Super-Blendable Foundation: the shade-match pick

$13.99 for 1 fl oz at Ulta, checked 26 August 2026, in 47 shades coded cool, neutral and warm. It holds 4.4/5 across 4,359 Ulta reviews and 4.3/5 across the 21,400 aggregated reviews in our database. The undertone coding is the reason to buy it: 47 explicitly labelled shades are easier to self-match than any numbered prestige range, including the 44 Armani offers for Luminous Silk.

The honest limit is finish. True Match dries satin and natural, with none of the lit-from-within light that people cross-shopping Armani are actually after, so you are buying the shade match and adding glow yourself. One more thing worth knowing: L'Oréal and Armani Beauty share a parent company, and people repeat that as if it means shared formulas. It does not.

Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara: the $10.99 entry point

$10.99 for 0.28 fl oz at Target, checked 26 August 2026; Ulta charges $13.99 for the same tube, so buy it at Target. This is the most-reviewed product we track from the brand, with 33,800 aggregated reviews, and the cheapest way to find out whether L'Oréal formulas suit you. The catch sits in the same data: its 4.3/5 shares last place with True Match among the five products we track here. Loved by a very large crowd, but not the near-unanimous scores the serum posts.

Revitalift 1.5% Pure Hyaluronic Acid Serum: buy it on sale

$26.99 on sale against a $35.99 list price for 1 oz at Ulta, 26 August 2026. Fragrance-free, and rated 4.6/5 by 13,828 Ulta reviewers, the best score in the L'Oréal range. On our Advanced Night Repair comparison it was the closest match we found, sharing 9 ingredients with the Lauder serum, roughly half its INCI list.

The problem is arithmetic that used to be easy. At $23.99 this was an obvious buy. At the $35.99 list price it costs more than three bottles of The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 ($9.90 for 1 fl oz, theordinary.com, 26 August 2026), which covers the same core humectant job. The formula has not got worse; the value has. Wait for the sale price, which Ulta was running the day we checked.

Infallible Fresh Wear Foundation: the longwear pick under $20

$18.99 for 1 fl oz at Ulta, checked 26 August 2026, in the 36 shades Ulta lists, rated 4.3/5 from 4,542 reviews. The US version now claims up to 32-hour wear. This is the foundation we name best overall dupe on two separate pages, for Estée Lauder Double Wear and Lancôme Teint Idole, on the strength of its wear time and oil control rather than its ingredient list, which shares nothing with either.

Two drawbacks. The shade range is 36 at Ulta against True Match's 47, thinner at both ends. And the $3 price rise since our comparisons were researched narrows its lead: our Double Wear page rates it ahead of Maybelline Fit Me ($8.99) on wear time and transfer resistance, and that gap is now what the extra $10 buys.

Age Perfect Cell Renewal Day Cream SPF 25: fine, not essential

$23.99 for 1.7 oz at Target, checked 26 August 2026, rated 4.4/5 across 8,900 aggregated reviews. A reasonable day moisturizer for dry or mature skin, and the review score says most buyers are happy. The drawback is the sunscreen: SPF 25 sits below the SPF 30 minimum the American Academy of Dermatology recommends for daily use, so treat the SPF as a bonus rather than your sun protection plan.
