Use the notes to choose a sample
Montblanc describes the original Explorer with a citrus opening and woody, leathery elements, including bergamot, vetiver and patchouli. Use that description to decide what to try at a counter. It is not our account of smelling the fragrance.
Ask for the original Eau de Parfum by its full name. Photograph the label of the version you tried so a later online purchase matches the sample.
Give it an ordinary day
Wear the sample on a day that resembles when you intend to use it. Make a short note after the first application and later in the day. Include how comfortable you feel wearing it around other people, not only whether you can still detect it.
There is no tested longevity or projection score here. Our research does not establish a fixed number of hours for your skin, clothing or application.
Avoid the wrong Explorer
Ultra Blue, Platinum and Extreme are separate versions in the range. Check the concentration and full product name before comparing sizes or discounts; a shared brand and bottle shape do not make two listings equivalent.
Set a maximum total spend before calculating the price per millilitre. A larger bottle can be cheaper per unit while still being an unnecessary purchase for an occasional wearer.
