Virtual try-on photos

When you use the Virtual Try-On studio, selected images stay in your browser until you choose to create a preview. We remove camera metadata and send the images to FAL and its model providers to process your request. We do not publish your uploads or add them to our editorial image library. The person photo must show only you, and you must be at least 18. You must have the right to upload any clothing or makeup reference images you select.

FAL returns the generated image directly to our server. We request that FAL disable storage of input and output payloads in its request history. These settings do not control every model provider’s operational logs. See FAL’s privacy policy for its handling of data. We save the processed input photos sent to the model, including person, clothing and makeup reference photos, and generated results in private Supabase storage for 30 days, then delete them during scheduled cleanup. Authorised administrators can compare these inputs with results and generation settings to assess quality, investigate misuse and enforce our terms. Camera metadata and original filenames are not retained.

Previews can be viewed and downloaded through the browser that created them for one hour; save a copy to your device if you want to keep it. Results are not included in public galleries or our editorial image library.

No sign-in is required. A necessary, signed browser cookie identifies your private studio session for seven days. We store its anonymous identifier, request ID, mode, status, settings, timestamps, moderation decisions and a request fingerprint to prevent duplicate submissions and recover interrupted requests. We record your IP address, a daily keyed network hash, and the version and time of your try-on confirmation with each new preview request. Authorised administrators can use the address to investigate misuse and block further try-on requests from that network. We use this information for our legitimate interests in protecting people from misuse and keeping the service secure. It is not shown to other visitors or used for marketing. Job records, including the IP address and confirmation record, are retained for 30 days and removed during scheduled cleanup. If an administrator blocks an address, we keep a separate record of the address, reason, administrator and block dates for up to 90 days from the latest block. Blocks expire automatically; expired records are removed during scheduled cleanup. Removing a generation does not remove a separate active block. You can object to this use or ask us to review a mistaken block at hello@insiderbeauty.com. Clearing cookies removes this browser’s access to previews. Clearing the studio removes photos and preview references from the current browser session; it does not recall a request already sent for processing.

Introduction

Insider Beauty (“we,” “our,” or “us”) operates insiderbeauty.com. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our website, create an account, join community features, or subscribe to our newsletter, or apply to create content with us.

Information We Collect

We collect information needed to provide and protect our services:

  • Contact messages: The name, email address, subject, and message you provide when you contact us. We use these details to respond to your inquiry; sending a message does not subscribe you to our newsletter.
  • Account and subscription data: Your email address, display name, country, newsletter preferences, and account identifiers when you subscribe or sign in.
  • Community activity: Your Beauty 100 votes, comments, product relationship disclosures, reports, and moderation history. Comments and your display name may be visible publicly.
  • Saved activity: Coupons and other items you choose to save to your account.
  • Usage and security data: We use Plausible Analytics to understand aggregate traffic without cross-site advertising trackers. Our hosting and security providers may also process technical details such as IP address, browser, request, and device information to operate and protect the Site.

How We Use Your Information

We use this information to:

  • Provide accounts, saved items, voting, commenting, and community moderation
  • Publish and calculate aggregate Beauty 100 community signals
  • Send newsletters and service messages you request
  • Receive and respond to contact messages, feedback, and support requests
  • Prevent spam, coordinated voting, fraud, abuse, and security incidents
  • Measure and improve the Site

We do not sell or rent your personal information. A brand relationship disclosed on a community contribution is used for transparency and to keep affiliated votes out of the community ranking signal.

Creator Applications

When you apply to create content with us, we collect your name, email, location or time zone, the types of work you select, weekly availability, and your introduction video or video link. You can also provide a social profile, portfolio, and additional context. We use these details, together with private review notes, to assess your application and contact you about content collaborations.

Uploaded introductions are stored privately and made available to authorized reviewers through temporary links. If you provide a link to another video service, that service controls access according to your sharing settings. We do not publish your introduction as content without a separate agreement, and applying does not subscribe you to our newsletter. We retain applications for review and collaboration discussions; contact hello@insiderbeauty.com to request access, correction, or deletion.

Service Providers and Sharing

We use service providers for authentication, database hosting, website hosting, analytics, email delivery, security, and payments. They process information for us under their own privacy terms and only as needed to provide those services. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect users or the Site, or as part of a business transaction. Loops processes subscriber email data and contact-form messages to deliver our emails; Cloudflare Turnstile helps protect forms from spam; Supabase supports account authentication, private application-video storage and private try-on result storage; FAL processes try-on images; Neon and Vercel support the Site and its data.

Data Retention

Contact messages are delivered to our team by email and retained as needed to respond, follow up, and resolve the inquiry. You can contact us to request deletion.

We keep account and community information while your account is active and as needed to operate the Site, resolve reports, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations. When you unsubscribe, we may retain a suppression record so we can honor that choice. When you delete your account, your active votes are removed. Previously published ranking snapshots may retain non-identifying aggregate totals. Published comments are de-identified and may remain as “Former member” so conversations do not lose their context; you can delete your own comment before deleting the account. Limited security, moderation, backup, or legal records may remain for a reasonable period.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Unsubscribe: Every email includes an unsubscribe link. Click it to stop receiving our newsletter immediately.
  • Access or Delete Your Data: Contact us at hello@insiderbeauty.com to request a copy of the data we hold about you, correct it, object to certain uses, or request deletion. Signed-in members can also delete their account from account settings.

Cookies

Plausible Analytics is configured without tracking cookies. Account authentication and security may use essential cookies or similar storage so you can remain signed in and protected. We do not use those essential technologies for cross-site advertising.

Embedded video

Some reels use the YouTube player. When a YouTube clip becomes active, your browser connects to YouTube and Google to load the player and video, which can share technical details such as your IP address, browser information and viewing interactions. We use YouTube’s privacy-enhanced embed domain; this reduces personalization but does not prevent all data collection. Our own hosted videos do not load the YouTube player.

YouTube videos are subject to YouTube’s Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy. We measure reel plays, completions and article clicks through Plausible using the article path.

Third-Party Links

Our newsletter and website may contain links to third-party websites (including beauty brands and retailers). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these external sites. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
